Ornaments are a big deal in my family. We have about a million of them, and so do our relatives, on both sides. Over the past few years, I have spent an afternoon in Advent trimming Aunt Dolly's Christmas Tree, and have fallen in love with her millions of angels and snowmen and Santas -- not to mention the handmade (some from my dad!) and vintage glass ornaments. She keeps them scrupulously organized: many are still in their original boxes; all are marked by who gave them to her. (There's one whole box dedicated to the Perry's, predictably.)
This year, while trimming the tree, I decided to photograph a few of my favorites.
