New Love: Kinfolk

Do yourself a favor and hop over to the Kinfolk Magazine site to read their first issue.  Kinfolk is an online and print magazine for "small gatherings."  Organized by size (one, two, several), the contributors present (with gorgeous, simple photography) short, lyrical descriptions of different gatherings, ranging from tea time by yourself to a weekend in a cabin with friends.

Talk about Kinfolk has been circulating in the design-blog world. Rather than the hysteria and glee surrounding the launch of many of these design online magazines, Kinfolk has been discussed quietly, in hushed anticipation.  This strikes me as so fitting for this peaceful, elegant magazine. It is so refreshing to see something lovely, thoughtful, and inspiring, that is content with what it is and how it was made.

The print edition has already sold out, I understand, but you can read the whole issue online.  And you can follow their RSS feed for daily gatherings and inspiration.  And, ps: I love the name.  Kinfolk.  Yes, that's what dear friends are.

  1. The fact that they begin with gatherings for one has won this introvert's undying affection!
