Jazz Love: Sleepy People

Today is Curry's birthday!  Curry is not the most sentimental person but I thought I would post for her (and your) enjoyment these different versions of one of her favorite songs: Two Sleepy People by Hoagy Carmichael and Frank Loesser. Written in 1938, it was recorded by nearly everyone (including Hoagy Carmichael himself)--and its most famous appearance was in the movie Thanks for the Memory with Bob Hope and Shirley Ross.

The original. The charming. The best.

A sweet live duet with Nellie McKay (who really needs to record more standards!)

A little more sultry, as is usual with Ms. London.

Cheesey and awful, and, let's face it, awesome and adorable.
