Jams by Mags: Etsy Store Now Open!

I am very happy to announce that the Jams by Mags Etsy store is now open!

I spent all afternoon yesterday filled with a nervous energy.  I cleaned and I sang old English folk songs at the top of my lungs, and I did everything I could--except the one thing I had to do: create my Etsy site.  I was so scared.  Finally, with a big bowl of mac and cheese, I sat down in front the computer and didn't get up for 3 hours.

I want to thank all of you for your encouragement.  Many times as I was sorting everything out, I was rather overwhelmed, wanting someone behind me to say "That looks good.  That's fine." And then I realized that you've all been there, waiting, pushing me, encouraging me to move forward.

I want to especially thank Bird and her husband, who planted the seed when they asked me to make jams for their wedding favors. Bird said when she approached me that maybe I just needed a push--and she was exactly the push I needed!  I really didn't think I'd be here doing this for all of you!

Another extra special THANK YOU goes out to Kim Maxwell Vu, who took these beautiful photographs! Isn't he amazing?!  Awesome.  Thank you!

Spicy Apple Butter
Now, because most of my summer jams were favors for Bird or Emma's weddings, I only have fall varieties right now.  They are:
Apple Jelly with Lemon and Basil
Pear Jam with Star Anise
"Wedding Jam" (Honey & Pear kissed by Sage)
Pear and Peppers
Spicy Apple Butter

There will be more varieties posted in the next week or two, and since I ship priority mail, you will get these in plenty of time for the holidays.  There will be a lot more pear.  Plus onion and thyme compote, something with cranberries, chestnuts (jam out of nuts!  Crazy!) and maybe, if you are really really lucky, a chutney!  It's gonna be awesome.  I'll also be posting a Jam-of-the-month club as soon as I figure out pricing.  And wedding favor orders.

Spicy Tomato Jam

A note on shipping:  shipping jam is very expensive, because of the weight of each jar.  I have decided to go with the flat rate priority mail boxes, which have plenty of room for cushioning.  Lots of stores mark-up their shipping and handling, so they can make a little more money.  Mine is not marked up at all--it is the precise cost of shipping plus insurance.

Please contact me personally for a special order of 3 or more, so I can give you better shipping rates, etc. And if you want these items gift wrapped and sent directly to your friends or family, I can do that too.  Just send me an email and I'll make a special listing for you:
