Well, dears, I did not make it to the market on Saturday, so I'll have to head to the mid-week market for more eggs and greens. But Miss Oregon and I went to a charming farm in Maryland and got a ton of strawberries. I'll be making strawberry jam tomorrow. (Perhaps with some red wine, what do you think?) I can't wait.
Also, last week I made pesto out of the arugula, which was a little too mature for a tasty salad. I added pine nuts, a little romano, excellent olive oil, salt, garlic, and the juice of half a lime--which made it really perk up. excellent on both pasta and pizza. It doesn't need pepper because the arugula has a lot of bite.
